Mr. Jopseph Brearley, who died on December 3rd 1895 at the age of 76 years, was in business as a woollen manufacturer with his father, the late Mr. Robert Brearley, at Clerk Green Mills which was commonly known as "t'Owd Craft", and before Mr. Robert Brearley died, Mr. Joseph Brearley commenced business on his own account at the same mill.
