The Plough Inn was formerly used by the small manufactures of the town. This property was also held under lease, dated 11th October 1875 for 999 years. It contained a clause binding the tenant within ten years from the date of the lease to pull down the old building and rebuild with a new line of frontage as indicated in the sketch plan by a red line. This improvement has not yet been done I am sorry to say.
Taken from an account by: I.H., February 1904.
The buildings were pulled down in 1913.
