It is the steam fire engine bought by Dewsbury Corporation in 1891 from Shand Mason in London. It was tested in front of the Town Hall and garaged in the Exchange Hall. The way out was via the police station yard into Rishworth Road. Sam Barraclough is seated on the left he is the Chief Officer of the Police Force who ran the Fire Brigade at this time.
